Gov. Doug Ducey signs 2 new Registrant bills into Arizona law
Of the sixteen new laws Gov. Ducey signed into AZ law, the following two will directly affect those on the Registry.
Sex-offender rights: HB 2488 states that an individual convicted of sexual assault has no parental rights to any child that may be the result of that assault.
Sex offender registration: HB 2539 allows an individual convicted of sexual conduct with a minor to ask the court to terminate his or her duty to register as a sex offender under the following circumstances: if the offender completed probation, the offender was under age 22 at the time of the offense, the victim was age 15 or older, the conduct was consensual, there was not more than one victim, the court has not determined there is reason to believe the defendant is sexually violent, the defendant was not sentenced to prison.

In this trying time we want to reiterate a few things for our registrants and families. We don't want there to be any confusion or penalties concerning registry requirements during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Make sure you know current requirements. You can go to your Sheriff's Office website to see if there is new information there. If so, we suggest you do a screen print and save it. Call your registry office to get clarification on any questions you might have. Document the date, time, who you spoke with and their instructions regarding any address change, vehicle, employment, travel dates if required, etc.
Keep in mind if you are required to update your drivers license annually through the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) you should contact them for their status. Some are limiting the number of people allowed inside and you have to wait to receive a call from them and then come back inside. Document any instructions.
Be safe, be smart, stay healthy and know we will get through this. All information is confidential and we do not distribute any data whatsoever.

I have a case (my grandson) that you would NEVER believe here in az! Even the judge called it ridiculous & unfair. He is currently living with us on probation which is a joke! I know this case is like none you’ve e ver heard. If you are interested contact me.
I am very much interested in your story. I, too, am living a nightmare since my son has been sentenced to 8 yrs. I am doing everything I can to go public with this.
@ Krys I am very sorry your grandson got into the sex offender pool. I was 19 years old and got on it as well from Florida. The sex offender registry is another form of Segregation and slavery. It puts an us against them policy and invisible chains and yoke around a person’s neck for life that Big brother watches us for life.
