• Let your voice be heard at the East Valley, Lewis Facility

    From Middle Ground:

You don’t usually see us partnering with the Department of Corrections, but on September 20, 2018, the ADOC and Middle Ground will partner with the Arizona Town Hall to sponsor a

COMMUNITY TOWN HALL MEETING on Criminal Justice In Arizona at the Arizona State Prison in Buckeye — the Lewis Prison.  REGISTRATION CLOSES 9/13 and the cost is $15, which includes a morning coffee session and lunch.  Follow the information tracks below in order to attend and participate in this historic event.  WHY is it historic?  BECAUSE IT IS THE FIRST TIME IN OUR MEMORY WHERE PRISONERS THEMSELVES WILL BE PERMITTED TO JOIN IN THE DISCUSSION ABOUT HOW THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM SHOULD BE REFORMED IN ARIZONA.  Usually, prisoners are never given a voice or any consideration in such discussions.  Middle Ground Prison Reform is proud to be a sponsor/partner in this endeavor to include the voices of inmates.  We thank the Arizona Town Hall for their effort to include the perspective of the “constituents.”

James and I hope to see you there.  Space is limited and restrictions (dress code, etc.) apply since the town hall meeting will take place inside the prison at Lewis Complex.
